Two returning All-KCAC performers will lead Bethel men’s tennis: two-time 1st Team player Drew Pippin, junior from Sand Springs, Okla., and Sam Gaeddert, sophomore from Hutchinson, who was co-Freshman of the Year and 2nd Team All-KCAC. The Threshers return two seniors who should make significant contributions – Dusty Gudde, Parsons, and Tyler Doerksen, Prescott Valley, Ariz. – as well as junior Brent Badawieh, Parsons, and sophomores Matt Hershberger, Clay Center, and Christian Loganbill, Wichita. Incoming freshmen include Ben Moore, Clay Center, a 4A State Qualifier in 2007, Nathan Dick, Baldwin City, and Tim Burns, McAlester, Okla.

The men team opened their season Feb. 24, in Lincoln, Neb., against Grinnell College and Nebraska Wesleyan. The KCAC season opens April 7 against Kansas Wesleyan, Salina.

“We return a proven group of players at the top of our lineup with Drew, Dusty and Sam,” said tennis coach Lonnie Isaac. “The big question for us will be the development of some of our younger players who haven’t seen a lot of varsity action.”

I think that we had a good team last year, but with the addition of a few guys over the off-season I believe we are in position to compete for the conference title. — Drew Pippin
