The Bethel men’s tennis team finished the 2008-09 season at 8-7 overall, 4-3 in the KCAC, for third place. Senior Drew Pippin, Sand Springs, Okla., earned 1st Team All-Conference honors for the fourth year in a row. Sam Gaeddert, junior from Hutchinson, and Ben Moore, sophomore from Green, received 2nd Team All-KCAC honors. Moore along with Matt Hershberger, junior from Clay Center, was Academic All-Conference with Hershberger earning NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors as well.
Six letter winners – seven players total – return for the Threshers in 2009-10. Leading the way will be seniors Gaeddert and Hershberger, along with Christian Loganbill, Wichita, and Shawn Sullivan, Hutchinson. Returning juniors, in addition to Moore, are Nathan Dick, Baldwin City, and Tim Burns, McAlester, Okla. New players include freshmen Jakob Enos, Hominy, Okla., Patrick Loganbill, Wichita, and Brett Wedel, Hutchinson.
The men's tennis team will be driven by experience this year as our is lineup filled mostly with juniors and seniors. With dedication to the team and strong leadership, I believe we can compete for one of the top spots in the conference. — Samuel Gaeddert
