The Threshers go into the spring 2010 season optimistic following a strong third-place finish in the conference last year and sitting in third place after the fall season. Zach Frey, junior from Goessel, and sophomores Jordan Esau, Hutchinson, Eric Regier, Haysville, and John Reimer, Hesston, lead the team. Frey, named to the KCAC All-Conference Team last year, looks to repeat the honor in 2010.
Remaining players on the spring roster include seniors Jordan Bartel, North Newton, Parker Bugosh, Castro Valley, Calif., and Alan Skinner, Clay Center; sophomores Trey Ronnebaum, Maize, and Cameron Voth, Goessel; and freshman Abram Rodenberg, Halstead.
The overall skill level of the Bethel team continues to improve as they practice at Sand Creek Station, one of the top public courses in Kansas and in the country. Expectations are improving as well, from a team with great attitudes and work ethic and a will to win. Bethel golfers strive to accomplish their goals through employing the Champions of Character core values – respect, responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship and servant leadership – on the golf course, in the classroom and in the community.
The Threshers competed in five fall tournaments and will compete in four or five additional tournaments this spring. Scheduled spring tournaments include the Bethany Spring Invitational; the Bethel Invitational at Hesston and Sand Creek Station, Saturday and Sunday, March 27-28; the Central Christian Invitational; and the KCAC Tournament, Monday and Tuesday, April 26-27 at Buffalo Dunes in Garden City.
The conference looks to be more evenly matched this year, with Southwestern College and Bethany College once again picked for the top spots. It should be an exciting year where just a couple strokes could make a difference in team and individual standings.

This upcoming spring season is looking to be extremely exciting. This team is the most competitive team that I have been with throughout the fours years I have attended Bethel. Not only is this team competitive, but they uphold several key characteristics that define what integrity, character, and leadership stand for. I couldn't picture finishing my senior year on the golf team with a better set of teammates. Thanks for all the memories! — Nathan Schmidt
