Thresher Gymnasium

Thresher Gymnasium is home to Thresher basketball and volleyball. It seats approximately 2,500 people for basketball. Seats have been hard to come by in recent years due to the success of Thresher basketball. Included in Thresher Gym are four locker rooms and a training room for use by the Threshers and their competitors.

Driving Directions

• From the north or south via I-135

  Take Exit 34 (K-15 North Newton, Abilene) and proceed south to 27th Street. Make a left turn on 27th to enter the campus. Thresher Gymnasium is the first building on the left. Parking is available along 27th Street and Minnesota Street in front of the gymnasium, across K-15 in the Kauffman Museum parking lot, or in the Thresher Stadium parking lot to the north. • From the north via K-15

  Proceed to 27th Street for the campus and continue as directed above. View a map of this route.

• From the west via Hwy. 50

  Take Highway 50 on the south side of Newton and enter Interstate 135 N (US-50 E Emporia, US-81 N Salina). Proceed north on I-135 until Exit 34 (K-15 North Newton, Abilene) and continue directions above from the south via I-135. View a map of this route.

• From the east via Hwy. 50

  Pass through Walton and proceed to the exit for Newton and 12th street. Take this exit (do not take the ramp to I-135 for Wichita); this will take you to Old Trail Road 1200. Follow Old Trail Road 1200 to 12th Street and turn right. Proceed on 12th Street (west) to K-15 (Main Street). Turn right (north) on K-15 and proceed to 27th Street. Thresher Gymnasium is the first building on the left. Parking is available along 27th Street and Minnesota Street in front of the gymnasium, across K-15 in the Kauffman Museum parking lot, or in the Thresher Stadium parking lot to the north.
