The men’s basketball team’s first season under new head coach Mark Yoder proved a trying time for the Threshers, who finished with a 5-13 KCAC record, 9-20 overall.
Several key victories led the team into the KCAC Tournament at the end of the season. The Threshers traveled to Lindsborg to meet Bethany College in the first round and overcame a 17-point deficit to take the game into overtime, eventually winning by four points. Bethel then lost to Ottawa University in the quarterfinals.
Two players received All-KCAC honors for their work on the court. Jordon Regehr, junior from Halstead, was selected to the KCAC Honorable Mention Team. Thomas Buckner, freshman from San Antonio, Texas, was selected to the All-Freshman Team.
The Threshers lose four seniors this season: Craig Dunback, Wamego, Brandon Kaufman, Moundridge, Tyler Peachey, Hillsboro, and Trent Simms, Hutchinson.
