The Threshers enter the season with a solid group of returning players, including four starters and six seniors. A good recruiting class has added depth, which will be a key to success this year. The team welcomes a new assistant coach, Alonzo Jamison.
The senior class is led by guards Scott Goering, Pretty Prairie, Jordan Regehr, Halstead, and Brent Stutzman, Hutchinson, along with forwards Cody Cole, Cunningham, Dustin Ketchum and Todd Rambo. Coach Mark Yoder expects his seniors to be the glue that holds this team together.
Other key returners are juniors Brody Grove, Belleville, and Shawn Sullivan, Hutchinson, and sophomores Thomas Buckner, San Antonio, Texas, and Matt Regier, Whitewater. Buckner and Regier started most of their freshman season and will be counted on to make a significant contribution.
Newcomers include junior college transfers Michael Doll, Goodland (Colby Community College), Greg Fletcher, Meriden, Conn., and Aaron Gingerich, Kalona, Iowa (Hesston College). Gingerich and Doll are both guards who handle and shoot the ball very well while Fletcher is a 6'7" forward who will add depth to the front line.
The Threshers will employ an up-tempo pressing and running style of play that should be fun to watch.
